Your Guide to Maximizing Positive Media Coverage at IAAPA Attractions Expo 2006

A positive news story about your company can be worth thousands of dollars in equivalent advertising. Before and during IAAPA Attractions Expo 2006 Annual Conference and Trade Show, exhibitors can utilize IAAPA's free resources to maximize positive media coverage of your booth, rides, services, and products! Take advantage of the following exhibitor benefits offered by the IAAPA Communications Services department:

Before the Show:

Gain Coverage for New Rides, Products and Services
Send information about new rides, products and services you plan to introduce at IAAPA Attractions Expo 2006. IAAPA will use this information to generate positive pre-show media coverage. Sending information now increases the possibility that reporters will visit your booth at the show and mention your products in an article or broadcast. Send information to pressoffice@iaapa.org with the subject line: "Attractions Expo 2006 Products". IAAPA may mention your new products (with your permission) before the show. Please send information by November 4, 2006 to be considered for valuable pre-show publicity in IAAPA press releases.

Tell the Local Media You're Exhibiting
Your involvement in the show is a great news angle for local reporters in your community. Customize the attached press release for your company and send it to your local newspaper, television, and radio media to gain coverage for your company. IAAPA recommends sending the release 2-3 weeks before you participate in the show.

Invite Registered Media To Your Booth
IAAPA anticipates 200-300 journalists will attend IAAPA Attractions Expo. One way to generate positive coverage for your company and booth is sending emails to registered media, inviting them to visit your booth and cover your new rides, products and services. The registered media contact list is available from IAAPA after November 1. Email pressoffice@iaapa.org with the subject line "RegListRequest", and be sure to mention your company name, contact name, and booth number.

During the Show:

Hold a Press Conference
Break news at IAAPA Attractions Expo 2006 -- the largest worldwide gathering of industry trade reporters and consumer press covering the amusement industry. Exhibitors can hold press conferences using the press conference facility in the press room (Hall C in the Georgia World Congress Center). The "ready-to-brief" facility will include a stage, risers for broadcast cameras, seating area for reporters, camera-ready lighting, and an audio multiple box distributor. Suggestions for press conference topics include announcement of new products, rides or services and ride installation announcements for 2006. Schedule a press conference by calling the IAAPA Press Office at +1 703/836-4800, ext. 778. IAAPA will promote your press conference before the show. We will also promote your press conference on-site. Schedule your press conference by November 1 to receive valuable pre-show publicity in IAAPA press releases.

Distribute Press Kits at the IAAPA Press Room
Bring 50-100 press kits with you to the show, and deliver them to the IAAPA press room for press distribution. Press kits should include basic information about your company, contact information, and features about your new rides and product offerings (including all relevant statistics).

For more information, call the IAAPA Press Office at +1 703/836-4800 ext. 778, or email pressoffice@iaapa.org.
